State Fair Politics: corny style

Last Saturday, while at their State fair some Iowan Republicans met for a straw-poll of their party’s presidential candidates in ’08. Yawn! It is the summer of ’07, only the talking heads really care.
There is happiness among the press that former Wisconsian Governor Tommy Thompson has dropped out of the pre-race since he only got sixth place out of eight candidats who bothered to show up at the fair. The Californian Representative Duncan Hunter got fewer votes than Thompson but the press aimed at Thompson to drop out but not Hunter. Maybe with the possible entry of the other Thompson (Fred), it was going to be too confusing for them.
Okay, back to your summer fun. The real campaign begins around Thanksgiving.
