Soldier Rescues Paralyzed Korean Woman

This story besides proving the true worth and merit of the US Soldier, is a great opening for one of my favorite rants. We have heard nothing in the past four years except about “exit strategies.” Bush we are told was a fool for going into Iraq without an exit strategy. Yet it never seems to bother the chattering classes that not only does our country usually lack an exit strategy, we don’t usually exit. Democratic President Truman sent troops to Korea and Japan and they are still there, thankfully for the woman rescued by one of our soldiers. Democratic President FDR sent troops into Germany, they are still there. Democratic President Clinton sent troops to the Balkans and….well you get my point. We only need an exit strategy when it is a Republican President sending in troops.

Well enough ranting here is PFC Russell McCanless, who earned the Soldiers Medal for rescuing a paralyzed woman from a burning building. Outstanding Private! I am sure that the mass media will be more than happy to give you as much attention as they did the bandits of Abu Ghraib. What’s that I can’t hear you over the sound of the crickets chirping.
