LBJ’s assistant still doing the lefts’ dirty work
Bill Moyers bids farewell while blasting Karl Rove as creator of the monster Bush. His argument is Rove’s manipulation of the Christian right and other assorted rubes from Texas. It is illustrative of how liberals view conservatives. It’s the epitome of hate speech. Can Moyers’ judgment be of any worth of historical facts? His years as the special assistant1 to President Johnson shows his lack of any sane judgement; in short, Johnson had a creditability gap of which Moyers’ share in that gap then and it continues today as he attempts to destroy all others in order to raise his own political past upward from the lagoon of sewage.
In his run for the Texas Senate seat, Johnson spoke in a speech at Woolddridge Park, May 22, 1948, he called President Truman’s civil rights program “a farce and a sham.” Additionally, he said,
“an effort to set up a police state in the guise of liberty. I am opposed to that program. I have voted AGAINST the so-called poll tax repeal bill; the poll tax should be repealed by those states which enacted them. I have voted AGAINST the so-called anti-lynching bill; the state can, and DOES, enforce the law against murder. I have voted AGAINST the FEPC; if a man can tell you whom you hire, he can tell you whom you can’t hire.”
After Johnson became President, he wanted to keep secret his long-time bigotry. He had attached to the Wooldridge speech:
“DO NOT RELEASE THIS SPEECH — NOT EVEN TO STAFF, WITHOUT EXPRESS PERMISSION OF BILL MOYERS.”

1 I shan’t cite Mr. Caro’s research on how Johnson gave assignments to his special assistants, but it is perverted and gross! Obviously, Moyers view of politics has been greatly distorted.
