RE-2: Enough!

As to the proposal that “Any office holder whose sex life makes it into the news for whatever reason has to lose their office no ifs ands or buts about it,” constitutionally, it has been proscribed for the past two hundred and twenty years. The problem is our elected officials did not ever read, studied, or understand the U.S. Constitution. Instead, they have the idea their political, negotiated deals are the ruling, basic law. The Constitution says:

1) Judges “shall hold their Offices during good Behavior.” (see art. III, sec. I)
2) The President, Vice-President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors.” (see art. II, sec. IV) (sidebar: notice the full phrase: “Treason, Bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors” of which during the Clinton Impeachment bribery was negotiated out of the articles of Impeachment!)
3) Senators and Representatives “shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place.” (see art. I, sec. VI) “Punish its Members for disorderly Behavior and, with the Concurrence of two thirds, expel a Member.” (see art I, sec.V)

I submit to you this for the 28th article of amendment:

1. Any office holder whose sex life makes it into the news for whatever reason has to lose their office no ifs ands or buts about it. Upon office holder’s admitting bad Behavior he shall be removed from office, neither shall he hold any office of trust again under the United States of America.

2. Spouses or other cohabitant(s) of the removed office holder shall not hold any office of trust under the United States of America, and no Attainder of Divorce shall work to allow former Spouses or other cohabitants to obtain high office.

3. Neither the Congress nor the Judges shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation or judicial decisions.
