TH-Gathering Minutes - Madison

Town Hall

 Meeting
Dane County
Tuesday, 2007 September 4

Four members attended at the University of Wisconsin @ Madison’s Union Terrace.

Regular Order

Old Business
Our guest at the last meeting had mentioned about a video called “The Corporation.” He disclaim it wasn’t a Moore movie. After our reviewing it was concluded the guest and the movie were blowing smoke….

The light Coo-coo Train is still consuming the meeting as well as Madtown/Dane County politics. A protest movement has been created to thwart this government make-work project: C.A.V.E.M.A.N. (Citizens Against Voting for Endless Madison Area Nonsense). [Scribe Note: if there are no club-cars on this light rail then forget it.]

“Taxpayers railroaded into transit authority,” –Russ Frank, Madison

The Filling the Ranks posted at this blog last month and David Aronin’s blog was discussed. The idea of an U.S. foreign legion was compared to the French foreign legion of old. Comparing anything with the French kills discussion.

Larry Craig’s Happy Feet
We were told that last Wednesday, August 29, 2007, Jonah Goldberg blogged at the National Review The Corner

The Market Solves Everything: Colossus of Rhodey has a good idea. Since prominent liberals feel perfectly comfortable lecturing everybody else about how we all have to reduce our CO2 emissions while they fly private jets, maintain numerous — lavish — homes and in all other ways burn through a whole lot of carbon so long as they buy “carbon offsets,” perhaps closeted gay Republicans can buy “gay offsets” which would allow them to privately take the Nestea plunge into a lake of cabana boys so long as they cut a check to the “heterosexual” cause of their choice.

Before Regular Orders Adjourned it was discussed moving the regular meeting from first Tuesday of the month to another day. No decision was taken.

Faithfully Submitted,

“Comparing anything with the French kills discussion.”

I laughed at this for a whole minute.
