RE: Rudy Rudy Rudy

Last Monday, THPrincess brought up a good point about next year’s election in her post. She said, “I don’t want Rudy to get the nomination. But I am only one Republican and the rest of the party doesn’t seem to agree with me. But given the choice between President Guiliani and President Clinton no way I am staying home.” In an earlier age of our nation’s history it was put as, “now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of the party.” This morning Bobby Eberle wrote his opinion piece at the gopusa.com, Would I Vote for Rudy Giuliani? He explain the turmoil we face this next election of our disappointment with the current Republicans in Congress and the attacks of the far Leftists in Congress who may very well control Congress and the Presidency in ‘09.

We have no perfect candidate in the field. Currently, my top pick is former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee. I have written about him on several occasions, but even he has some issues regarding taxes levied in Arkansas that he needs to explain. Will I continue to support him? Likely so. But what happens if he doesn’t win? What if former Gov. Mitt Romney is the nominee. Will I vote for him over Hillary Clinton? Yes! Will I vote for Sen. John McCain over Hillary Clinton? Yes! Will I vote for former Mayor Rudy Giuliani over Hillary Clinton? Yes! Will I vote for former Sen. Fred Thompson over Hillary Clinton? Yes! I will do so, and I will do everything I can to help our Senate candidates and get the message out to the American people that conservative values are what is best for the country. I will also continue to work to change (not abandon) the Republican Party. That is what we should all be doing. Let’s fight in the primary. Then, let’s come together and fight for our country.

I have been saying it is early to pick a candidate but the other side is targeting the Conservatives for destruction as evidence their attacks on any conservative talking-head in the last few weeks. Now, it is not the time to divide ourselves but to unite while we can do so.
