Happy Real Independence Day
I have been so busy getting the Seder ready that I completely forgot it is Patriot’s Day until The Corner linked to this great post.

This is truly our nation’s Independence Day. Of course Congress decided to give that name to the day that Congress finally got into the act. Politicians would of course think everything revolved around the acts of politicians. But it was today that a bunch of ordinary farmers, exercising their inalienable right to keep and bear arms, gathered on Lexington Green and the Old North Bridge and fired the shots heard around the world. Today is the anniversary of the death of the divine right of kings and the birthday of the liberty we all take for granted.
And how perfect that today’s Patriots Day is also the first Seder of Passover. Two grand celebrations of liberty triumphing over tyrants.
