The Coming Change — But, Not B.O.’s

In 1976 after his defeat for the Republican nomination to President G. Ford, Governor Reagan converted his campaign from “Citizens for Reagan” into “Citizens for the Republic.” It mission was to bring Republican victory. It succeeded in 1980.

I got an e-mail today from Governor Huchabee who formed a similar committee: HuckPac. The beginning of his P.A.C. (political action committee) mission statement declares:

Huck PAC is founded on the principles that make America great: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Our Republican Party embodies these ideas and is best suited to lead America forward.

Huck PAC is committed to helping Republicans regain control of the House and Senate, regain a majority of governorships and elect John McCain as the 44th President of the United States.

Huck PAC will support Republican candidates who are passionate advocates for tax reform, a strong national defense, real border security, life, the family, less government and individual liberty.

Huck PAC will identify candidates who hold firm to these principles, promote their campaigns and financially support their efforts.

Don’t get me wrong, Governor Huckabee is no President Reagan — nobody is. This is a good sign of leadership. There is hope of victory.

Huckabee is not Reagan, he is also not a conservative. Except for his stance on abortion his policies are all straight out of the big goverrnment nanny state playbook. A hope for victory for Huckabee is a hope for defeat for conservatism.

1) For over half a century our people have come to be depended on looking toward the government for success. We must begin to remove the road-blocks to making a better life before we remove the nanny-state.

2)As you stated in your post 4 years and then what, this is no time to chase any Conservative away who is willing to elect Republicans to Congress, State Houses, and the White House.
