What Really Matters
Every day the conversation around here is high gas prices. I am bored beyond belief. The obvious answer, we need to drill for our own oil, is the only one no one wants to talk about. How much more fun are demented conspiracy theories, evil oil companies, Bushhitler and that darn Israel. I dont’ want to hear any of it. I love my country, but sometimes I want to slap my countrymen silly.
Especially reading a story like this one: http://www.armytimes.com/news/2008/06/army_moh_060208w/ Specialist McGinnis didn’t have to worry about the high cost of gas, he just had to worry about the grenade thrown into his humvee. A grenade that probably was bought with oil money. Thousands of Americans have a lot more to worry about from the power of oil producing nations than $5 a gallon. But no one ever talks about that, no one even wants to think about that.
