The Elephant In the Polling Room

Watching folks in the blogsphere analyze polls is driving me batty.  Once again there is a gigantic, big eared elephant sitting in the middle of the room and no one wants to notice it.  Everyone is talking margins of errors and likely voters vs. leaning voters and no one wants to state the most obvious problem.  Because to go there, to mention that, would be all kinds of politically incorrect.  Nope, no one, not liberal, not conservative, not libertarian wants to point out that Obama’s poll numbers can not be accurate.  Obama’s poll numbers will be higher than his actual votes.  They were in the primaries they will be in the general; unless for the first time in history everyone is telling the truth to pollsters about whether or not they will vote for the black guy.

Oh no I said it, I said the word, I brought up the race card.  How dare I?   How could I?   We will now return to our regularly scheduled discussion of polls as if they actually meant something.  I am going to practice typing I told you so.
