Which Economists?
Classical Values and Instapundit are discussing the need to listen to economists. This leads to the question which economists? Wasn’t Keynsian economics responsible for the failures of the 70s? Wasn’t JK Galbraith an actual moron? Doesn’t it matter which economists you listen to? Classical Values compares economics with brain surgery and that is an excellent comparision. http://www.classicalvalues.com/archives/2008/09/ben_is_far_bett.html I have never had brain surgery, but I have had other medical problems which inept doctors made worse not better. Listening to the wrong economist is going to be as fatal as listening to the wrong doctor.
One thing though I do understand perfectly in all of this: Having Congress solve this financial mess is like having the arsonist put out the fire.
