Pain

At NRO there is an amusing look at the financial crisis through the lens of one who has recently passed a kidney stone. http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=YWE1YTg0N2I5OTQ1ZWNkYjFmYTNjZjQ2ZmMzYmM5ZjA= The article is fun and ends with this sentence which is the funniest ever written:

Is that too much to ask of this mess? That from whatever pain we have to endure, we can perhaps learn enough from it so that we don’t go through this again?

Surely you jest Mr. Whittle.  Learn from this mistake; if the American people had learned anything Chris Dodd would be wearing tar and feathers.  Think this pain is bad, we still haven’t seen the worst pain of all, the pain that is still maybe 30, maybe 20 years down the road.  Sooner or later Americans who are now under 50 are going to discover there is no such thing as a Social Security Trust Fund.  Sooner or later FDR’s Ponzi scheme comes crashing to the floor.  Then we will really know pain.
