Liberty Had A Good Run
So many “conservatives” are enthralled by this “historic” moment, I can’t go near them. But Mark Steyn remains bracingly honest about the depths of socialism wannabes the American people have sunk too. http://www.steynonline.com/content/view/1477/ Perhaps it is because for Steyn the future is now. He has spent the last year in Orwell’s world defending himself against the crime of printing his opinions. Steyn already knows what it is to lose your Freedom of Speech to hate crime laws; we will all soon know. So if he seems a little more pessimistic than a conservative is supposed to be, it is because he has seen our future. It is one where life, liberty and property come from the government as long as we love Big Brother.
