What Child is This?
For a child is born to us, a son is given us; upon his shoulder dominion rests.
They name him Wonder-Counselor, God-Hero,
Father-Forever, Prince of Peace,
His dominion is vast and forever peaceful,
From David’s throne, and over this kingdom,
which he confirms and sustains
By judgement and justice, both now and forever.
the zeal of the Lord of Hosts will do this!

Did you ever notice what we do when we hold a small child? We smile at the little joy we held in our arms. As our parents held us as children they smiled at joy we gave them. Did you ever stop to think that God holds us that way? Not just when you were a child, but now. Even if things are not going well in particular if things are not going well.
What child is this? It is you, reader, it is me. We are in God’s arms.
