REFLECTIONS

So the California State Legislature’s brilliant idea to fix the budget deficit failed miserably at the ballot box.   Now the Legislature must come up with real spending constraints says the optimist.  You are out of your teeny tiny brain says the Burkean.  The California State Legislature is overflowing with rabid leftists and impotent RINO’s.  This Legislature can no more balance a budget than they can fly. 

This is always the way in California.  On issues the people want harsher penalties for criminals and hiring illegal aliens; cuts in welfare spending; rollback of regulations.  But when it comes to voting for candidates, the California voter chooses the person whose stand on the issues is the exact opposite of what the voter wants. 

The election yesterday has to be repeated by throwing out all the Legislatures who supported these absurd proposals in the first place.  If not then the defeating those propositions was meaningless.  Expecting this California Legislature to fix the problems caused by this California Legislature, would be like hiring a former ACORN lawyer to fix the housing mess that ACORN started with its lawsuits. No one would be dumb enough to try that.
