Giant Squids
Last week a flock, pod, school? whatever it’s called of giant squid showed up off the southern Calfornia coast. This inspired the BurkeanSon to compose an ode to the newest, tentacled tourists. If this poem seems awfully advanced for a nine year old boy, all I can say is Homeschooling Works.
Why are giant squids flocking by the dozens?
Are they here to visit their little squid cousins?
But wait, the little squid are the bigger ones’ prey.
That’s why every night they hit the hay.
Usually squids are nocturnal beasts
But if they stayed up they’d be the giant squids’ feasts!
La Jolla aquatic animals live in fear,
For now the giant squids are here.
