What’s the rush?

Ok, we have been picking apart the truely horrible provisions of the Health Care Abomination (HR 3200), and have missed one very basic thing.

This thing is written in terms of “Y1″ (the first year of implementation) and subsequent years.   Ok … but the question that most of us have not asked is “what is Y1″?  I, for one, had merely assumed it was the year after the bill was passed.

It is not.

In the definitions section, Y1 is defined as 2013.

Four years from now.

So … what’s the all-fired rush to get this thing passed?  Why don’t we (or more to the point, our congresscritters) have time to read it and evaluate it?  It does not take effect for four full years even if it is passed tomorrow!
