The Worst Political Class
Today over on Instapundit, Glen Reynolds wrote “Yes, when you have the worst political class in your nation’s history — as we do now — your economic prospects tend to dim.” http://pajamasmedia.com/instapundit/86727/
Now that’s the kind of absurd exaggeration that is red meat to a history buff, sending me scouring through pages of history to prove him wrong.
After all there are so many terrible political classes to choose from. LBJ and JFK got away with so much illegal wire tapping and abuses of executive privilege, that poor schmuck Nixon figured he could, too. Wilson was openly racist while throwing people in jail for exercising their First Amendment rights. Grant was one of our most honorable presidents, but so hopelessly naive he was rewarded with one of our most dishonorable cabinets.
All our current political class has done is amass large fortunes while ruining the housing market in the country. Thereby wiping out the personal savings of millions of working class people like my husband and me.
Oh my God Instapundit’s absurd exaggeration may be right.
If anyone wants me I will be hiding under my bed.
