We Need A Little Christmas

It pains me that so many of my fellow Jews think that protecting their own Religious Freedom now means intruding on the Religious Freedom of others.   A town hall with a manger scene in no way restricts my liberty.  But declaring that the mere mention of certain religous holidays is “offensive” restricts the religous freedom of us all, even those who have no religion at all.  This year Christmas is “offensive”, next year it may be Chanukah, the year after that it may be atheism.   The First Amendment guarantees the free exercise of religion, or lack thereof, for all.  And the diminishment of one man’s religious freedom, diminishes us all.

So by all means say Merry Christmas.  And Adonai Bless Us Every One.
