Cassandra Speaks
Sorry to be the 2010 party pooper. I saw this all coming 2 years ago and its old news to me. When it was clear our nation would elect the far left President Obama it was also clear that 2 years later those self same people would run to the polls and scream for the daddy party to save them from themselves.
I knew in Sept 2008 that President Obama would double energy costs, triple deficits, and force government controlled health care. How did I know? Because he told us so! In his own words and I listened to him. I knew he would be a socialist and I knew the country wanted all the goodies of socialism without having to pay for it. And once it became clear that there is indeed no such thing as a free lunch the “independents,” of whom Florence King once said “can be swung like a lariat,” would come running back to the mean spirited GOP.
I’ve known it all for over 2 years. But now comes the scary part because now for the first time since the first coming of the O’Messiah I have no idea what is going to happen. Oh I know what President Obama will do. He will use the Executive Order and EPA to continue forcing socialism on us. Whatever else he is President Obama is man of principles. Unfortunately the principles are those of the slave driver in never ending class war, but principles nonetheless.
It’s what the heartless, budget cutting, war on the poor, tax breaks for the rich GOP is going to do that scares me. Because I am deathly afraid that once again the GOP will not live up to it’s reputation. They never do. Even the Great Ronaldus Reaganus couldn’t cut a budget to save his life. The famous “Republican budget cuts”, we all know were in fact nothing but slowing growth. Republicans can’t even freeze spending, merely dawdle it just a tad. The GOP’s first instinct is going to be compromise and conciliation. At a time when for once the American people actually want government slashed, I am deathly afraid the GOP will be too busy trying to get invited to “beer summits” to do what needs to be done.
I wasn’t afraid when the left came to power because I knew what would happen. I knew that serfdom was upon us and we needed to stand steadfastly against it. But now we have a chance to do to serfdom what the Minute Men did to the Divine Right of Kings and now I am afraid. I am afraid that once again the GOP would rather cave than fight.
See that horse. The huge, wooden horse with the big banners that say “compromise” “consensus” “bi-partisanship.” That horse is filled with serfdom and if we let it in Liberty will be ravaged.
