Suckers!
The GOP once again proves it is the party of suckers and wimps.
Look every rational person knows that tax increases hinder economic growth. Tax increases are actually exercises in futility. Tax revenues go down after a tax increase, because economic growth was stifled. Ironically cutting taxes actually increases tax revenue because the greater growth gives the government more to tax. By insisting on tax increases liberals are actually stifling their own dreams of bigger government. But that’s just fine because it isn’t government for government’s sake liberals care about; its power. Liberals don’t really want more money they just don’t want to let us keep ours.
But by only giving us a two year tax freeze the President-who-would-be-Emmanuel is managing to make tax cuts look bad. Again all rational beings know that uncertainly is the killer of today’s economy. Business have no idea what will be taxed or regulated or demanded of them next. So business have all put on the brakes and are sitting on their cash. A mere 2 year freeze does nothing but create more uncertainty. A prudent businessman will keep saving his money in fear of what will come if the would-be-tide-turner is re-elected. Thus 2 years from now the President can claim that the tax freeze did not help the economy and therefore raising taxes is good.
Meanwhile the whipped party pats itself on the back over this “victory.” SUCKERS!
