When Wackos Win
The House of Representative has decided to shut down for a week in light of the recent horror in Arizona. This is such a bad idea. One deeply disturbed individual gets the notoriety of his dreams with a horrifying act of mass murder. That is heart wrenching and painful in of itself. But now this one sick man will be shutting down the World’s Great Deliberative Body. In doing this the House is giving a greater power to the lone gunman than we ever gave to the great empires we faced in total warfare.
To shut down the House this week is to say the lone wacko is the greatest power on earth. The lone wacko will be doing what the British Empire, the Confederacy, the Axis powers could not manage. Open the House with a prayer for Congresswoman Giffords and a moment of silence for all those killed and then get back to the work of We The People.
