This Is What Principles Look Like

Powerline has an excellent look at Gov. Romney’s tour through Isreal and his speech there.  http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2012/07/our-enduring-alliance.php

If there is anything purely about principle in American politics today it is Republican support of Israel.  Now I am both a Republican and Jewish; so I can tell you it is a very lonely description. No Republican candidate is going to get the majority of the Jewish vote, not to mention Jewish campaign contributions.

I saw a headline that Romney was going to Israel to get the Jewish vote, and that’s a lie.  Romney is not delusional, he knows most Jews are going to vote for Obama and don’t ask me why I have no idea.  The only Jews who will be impressed by Romney’s trip, are those like me who are going to vote for him anyway.  So all Romney can do by going to Israel is make clear his principles, for principles sake.  How often does that happen in American politics these days?
