“Yes, we can” is not creed
ENJOY LIFETHERE IS NO AFTER-LIFE That was the billboard I saw this week as I was speeding north on US-26 just outside of Watertown, Wisconsin. At my car-speed I just barely saw the sponsor of it: I think it was call `freedom from religion.’ Playing the devil-advocate (an apt title in this case) I thought: [...]
U.S. Constitution Day – 2010
Today is the two hundred and twenty-third anniversary of the second Constitution of the United States of America. An excellent document of preserving liberty if citizens remain honest. It provides the American people with a Republic and as Ben Franklin warned us about if we can keep it. The sad fact is since the progressives [...]
Nanny McPhee, help us!
Last night, I went to the movies. I do not like to preview them. The movie I pick was the next one showing. It was Nanny McPhee Return. While I don’t want Nanny McPhee, I do need her to help civilised us. Please, help us, Nanny!
Please, Don’t Burn Quran on 9/11
In recent times, destroying the sacred objects of whom one think of as non-believers to one’s own belief system has become very popular. I understand the fruitlessness in convincing other people, who disrespect one’s own sacred things, to be civil. [from 1995 to 2003 I attempted to remind some of my fellow Townhall chatters to [...]
Where in the World is DeanSMS? Part 2
I have so many different ways for people to contact me through the Internet. ICQ, AIM/aol, MSN, yahoo, skyp. Now, there is geo-locational applications, 4sq, for pin-pointing where I am at any given time at any particular place (certainly glad so far I get to decide the when.) But, I shan’t do video!
Where in the World is DeanSMS?
Last Wednesday night, Facebook began its version of locational social media. It was an immature attempt to rival foursquare and others. At about the same time I was able to use 4sq on my windows mobile(winmo). It seems the apple-phone (appmo) application for FB-places is now workable but for the other mobile platforms touch.facebook.com is [...]
Spirituality without Community
A thought upon the @AnneRiceAuthor media-play. In the latter half of the late-century, there has been a divorce between establish religions and spirituality. With the increase governmental involvement into our lives it should not surprise me of my fellow countrymen have replaced spirituality with freedom of expression etc. Some of us are thinking too much [...]
Defund & Desisting the Present Danger
Calling all patriots! Alex Gimarc sent out e-mails about Dr. Jack Wheeler’s website: Defund and Desist. The current blog-post is Revolutionary Constitutionalism. Supremacy Clause has been in the news again by the Obama Justice Department’s suit against Arizona’s law 1070. Article VI Clause 2 of the Constitution This Constitution, and the Laws of the United [...]
しらぬ が ほとけ。
Writing reflections upon this attempted revolution in the United States from within is bearing heavy. It is almost the dog-days of Summer and it feels that almost certainly for the United States. While I assists my candidates for public office in this September primary and the November general-election, I continue to practice foreign languages — [...]
As Americans nap, amerika grows
As the Congress ‘debated’ this Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, we were told by Madam Speaker Pelosi that we would learn of its wonderful contents AFTER it passes. We are learning. The word, wonderful, has been newpeaked. [see George Orwell's 1984] ABCnews Money has reported: Starting Jan. 1, 2012, Form 1099s will become a [...]
RE: Some Hate is Okay
The tension between us is far beyond the boiling point despite this President’s hypish-promotion since the last election for ‘change we can believe in.’ The loudest and wider-spread of hate-speech is among the radical left-wingers. The widest spread of public notice is when supposedly one of our own screws-up and acts like a jackass. I [...]
The New Obama Display
The social media website called Twitter has constant outages which are caused mainly from its popularity. When this site goes down it puts up a “whale” graphic apologizing for the inconvenience to the users. There was created, from President Obama’s own 2008 campaign signage, an display to explain his administration: See bccohan and @SusanAnneHiller.
Hot in Cleveland?
It may be hot in Cleveland but its tv-pilot needs development, of course, don’t they all? I thought the best scene was at the end of the show where the four actresses chatted on their front patio. The best line went to Betty White when she was ask why eighty-year-olds wear track-suits: “When we are [...]
About that border-wall
Perhaps, it is too late to built that border-wall along the southern border of the USA. With the tone of last night presidential oval-office speech on why we need to rid ourselves of fossil fuels for ‘green’ power and extortion for an oil-spill slush fund managed by whom, I wonder if these are the final [...]
