Simple, but not obvious. In her state - Wisconsin - with a Democratic governor and state senate, as well as an assembly that has just “turned blue” after 14 years as a Republican strong-hold - what could be done by  conservatives to: make headway on their agenda, revive the morale [...]

…this is not “your father’s left.”
They have mastered the “art” of incrementalism.
Things may happen out of sight and slowly for some while as the veneer of normalcy is maintained in key areas.

During the period while a Obama regime consolidates, they will seek to extend their writ into agencies - such as the military, security services, and local police - where their influence has been resisted heretofore. There will be carrots - grants, promotions, preferred placement, etc those inclined or willing to toe the party line. Others [...]

But, Sen Obama is full grown and running for President. Hence, his choices of whom to have at his side as advisers - while striving to convince the whole nation of his suitability for that office - may tell us much more about his current inclinations than does his choice of church, pastors and mentors [...]
