Libertarians are such stinking hypocrites. They talk endlessly about the evils of big government, but when it comes down to elections they will fling themselves on the biggest government they can find, as long as it promises to protect them from the big, bad, social conservative. Roger Simon over at PJ Media http://pjmedia.com/rogerlsimon/2012/02/09/the-santorum-surprise/2/ joins in the chorus of libertarians shocked that the statist Romney is being challenged by gasp, horror a man who believes the Bible about homsexuality. No not that! Anything but that!

This is libertarianism? Supporting Gov. Romney-care? The man who thinks government should be in charge of every employer/employee relationship. The man who thinks the government should force every adult to purchase health insurance. The man who thinks the government should be involved in every medical decision made by doctor or patient. This is the man “libertarians” want, because the thought of a social conservative makes their poor delicate libertarian hearts all a flutter.

Look I am not happy about Sen. Santorum’s record on spending. He is a compassionate conservative, which Pres. Bush showed us means watch your wallet tax payer. But he isn’t defending the indefensible of socialized medicine as Gov. Romney continues to do to this day. Santorum is a compassionate Conservative, but he IS a Conservative. Romney is, as I said, nothing a man of no principles, whose only reason for going to DC is to “make Washington work.” I don’t want Washington to work, I want Washington to get out of the way so the American people can get back to work.

None of this matters to “libertarians.” Their love of liberty ends when social conservatives express Freedom of Speech. They rallied to the genuine, unquestionably statist Obama in 08 and they will again, because What PJ O’Rourke said about liberals and liberty applies to libertarians as well. ”The only freedom they want is the freedom to say bad words and put anything they want in their mouths. It is the freedom of two year old.”

It isn’t half time, it’s the free skate. Unfortunately in the short program of President Obama, the US fell on all three jump passes and a spin. We are dead last going into the free skate.

Which would be fine if we had a GOP nominee with a quad. Gov. Perry’s job creation in the Great State of Texas should have been that quad. But, as always seems to happen when a Texas Republican leaves Texas, Perry managed to bungle the only message the American people wanted to hear right now: here’s how I created jobs in my state, here’s how I am going to create jobs in the United States.

Santorum is a compassionate conservative, and you can insert my eye roll here. But Romney is not anything, not conservative, not liberal, he is a zero. Obama is many things but mostly he is a man of principle. Alas, they are the Marxist principles of one determined to punish the enemies of socialism. But still they are principles.

We need a quad, we desperately need a quad. I just don’t see anyone in the GOP with one.

“We’re having a kind of Andy Warhol primary where everyone is leader for 15 minutes. And it’s Cain’s turn today. But it’s not clear that Cain has staying power. He’s not running for president; he’s sort of strolling for president without an infrastructure. It’s pretty and cute and nice, but whether that works, we can be doubtful.” — George F. Will, speaking on ABC’s This Week

But see that’s why I like Herman Cain. Mr. Cain knows he is running for President, not the Messiah. Cain is running a political campaign not a religious revival. He has a common sense and a sense of perspective I find greatly refreshing in a Presidential candidate. He doesn’t think he can make “lame beggars walk” or turn back the seas; he thinks he knows how to balance a budget. I would so settle for that right now.

I hate people telling us that we must vote for the one who is the most “electable” candidate. Because, when it comes to Republicans, “electable” is code for “most like a Democrat”. They think that only a democrat, or one who is like a democrat can get elected. I am TIRED of actual conservative candidates being tossed by the wayside in favor of the “most electable” candidate … who then proceeds to demonstrate that he is not electable after all. Last time around, we lost Duncan Hunter to this kind of thinking.

If we are going to lose, let’s lose by our principles. But — and here is the thing — the people who are proclaiming to us which candidate is “electable” are doing one of two things. They are either playing upon our fears of losing the election and telling us that THEIR candidate is the only one who is “electable”. Or worse, they are actually planning for defeat by thinking in terms of ”let’s pick someone who is most like the other party”.

They are WRONG. The American People would be more than willing to vote for someone with principles. It’s when they are offered a choice between “Democrat” and “Democrat Lite” that they decide to go for the real Democrat. I mean, if you are going to have a Democrat, why not pick the Real Thing, right?

Herman Cain is the most unabashedly conservative candidate we have. The Florida Straw Poll picked him even when the pundits weren’t even MENTIONING him after the debates. He is the man we need for the upcoming election, and not just as a token VP on the ticket. He needs to be the top of the ticket. And the “electable” candidate, Romney? Pfeh. A Republican who is a success in a Blue state. Who brought Obamacare to his state before it was brought to the rest of the country. Pfeh again. Romney is “electable”. We need someone who can LEAD.

So now it is Governor Chris Christie who is going to save us? A bad temper does not a conservative make. Indeed a true conservative is always a gentleman, as President Reagan demonstrated. If Christie is in the race I am going to have start campaigning for Romney or anyone else who looks like he might stop him. There is nothing I can say about Gov. Hear no Sharia See no Sharia that Andrew McCarthy hasn’t said much better than I could

http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/273865/christies-crazies-andrew-c-mccarthy

If my choice is Christie or Obama I will stay home. Because it will be six of one Sharia supporter half dozen of the other. There are a lot of RINO’s I will vote for, but not the biggest RINO of them all.
