PJTV has video of some left wing racists saying that “conservatives like Cain because he knows his place.” Meaning he is an Uncle Tom.

As always The biggest problem with the liberals ravings is reality. Mr. Cain’s place is CEO of a nationwide business. Which, if it means what the libereral says, instead of the racist idea the liberal is claiming, means that conservatives like black men we can call boss.

We don’t need the “electable” candidate

I hate people telling us that we must vote for the one who is the most “electable” candidate. Because, when it comes to Republicans, “electable” is code for “most like a Democrat”. They think that only a democrat, or one who is like a democrat can get elected. I am TIRED of actual conservative candidates being tossed by the wayside in favor of the “most electable” candidate … who then proceeds to demonstrate that he is not electable after all. Last time around, we lost Duncan Hunter to this kind of thinking.

If we are going to lose, let’s lose by our principles. But — and here is the thing — the people who are proclaiming to us which candidate is “electable” are doing one of two things. They are either playing upon our fears of losing the election and telling us that THEIR candidate is the only one who is “electable”. Or worse, they are actually planning for defeat by thinking in terms of ”let’s pick someone who is most like the other party”.

They are WRONG. The American People would be more than willing to vote for someone with principles. It’s when they are offered a choice between “Democrat” and “Democrat Lite” that they decide to go for the real Democrat. I mean, if you are going to have a Democrat, why not pick the Real Thing, right?

Herman Cain is the most unabashedly conservative candidate we have. The Florida Straw Poll picked him even when the pundits weren’t even MENTIONING him after the debates. He is the man we need for the upcoming election, and not just as a token VP on the ticket. He needs to be the top of the ticket. And the “electable” candidate, Romney? Pfeh. A Republican who is a success in a Blue state. Who brought Obamacare to his state before it was brought to the rest of the country. Pfeh again. Romney is “electable”. We need someone who can LEAD.

New Social Media in Town

For over the Summer I have been using Google plus (g+, gplus). I have been less here on Reflection and Twitter. My Facebook while usually sparse has declined almost non-existent.

My first experience with any kind of social medium was back in the early tenth decade of the past century. It was the orginal Town Hall which the users communicated via a VAX server. The posts submitted there are quite well-written. I am finding such is again happening at g+.

For myself, Twitter is for instant discovery of news events as they are occuring; google plus for the more insightful discussions of those events; Facebook is a contact list for people to find me of whom I knew in my various schools and post-education work.

Last Monday night as I was watching the second Republican presidential debate, I was thinking about the political labels we assigned to our public servants and to ourselves. Conservatives and Liberals, Libertarians and Progressives, Right-wingers and Left-wingers…. It was during the question about gay marriage where the candidates chose between federal constitutional amendment or leave it up to the various States that I remembered there are really only two real political labels.

We are all either federalists or anti-federalists. Do we want the federal government to be the dominate rule or a defined sharing of defined powers between the States and the federal union.

Every issue stems from which ever choice we decide to believe.

Hysterical blindness

Last week the wise and Solomon-like President Obama declared that the Palestinian/Israeli conflict could be solved by the simple act of returning Israel to the borders it had before it was attacked by the combined forces of Egypt, Syria and Jordan. The man is a genius! However … and this must clearly be my own shortcoming … I have looked over the map of the 1967 borders and do not see marked upon them a Palestinian State. This must be a hysterical blindness inflicted upon me by my own prejudices, because our Wise and Benevolent Leader would never have suggested such a thing unless it gave the Palestinians back their own state, would he have?
